This position will be assisting with conception, development, and implementation of integrated control solutions, as well as building a talented and motivated automation team.  This role is critical to the success of our  business and is a great opportunity to be a part of a fast-growing company, as well as play a significant role in that growth moving forward.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Application Engineering, Engineering, and Project Management to quote, develop, and implement turn-key solutions for our customers
  • Build out our automation team with talented motivated individuals as our business grows
  • Provide mentorship to automation team and broader design team as it relates to automation competency
  • Understand equipment and system requirements and be able to develop application specifications that fulfill product/system needs
  • Ability to work independently on projects dealing from concept definition and specification through system controls design to system testing (shop and field)
  • Develop and implement systems and applications using high-level software tools
  • Test applications and control methods using simulation, emulation, field testing
  • Provide system design support by researching and specifying controllers, sensors, and control components
  • Interface with company and client project managers and technical representatives

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field, or 10-15 years’ progressive experience in design, programming, and leadership
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in selecting and designing controls hardware, applying PLC-based programming languages, and integrating Industrial devices, Siemens PLC experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across teams, and develop report with vendors and customers
  • Ability to lead a design team from concept development through project implementation
  • Prior management or leadership experience is a strong plus
  • Self-starter who is well-organized, creative, detail oriented, and has a natural leadership ability
  • Experience with advanced motion control and/or robotics required
  • Experience integrating equipment at Automotive OEM and Tier 1 suppliers preferred
  • Our customer base is concentrated in our backyard, so there is limited travel required
